"Post-Punk Attitude 2" - 24/03/13 - 18:00

On Sunday March 24th - Croydon Radio let us loose on the wheels of steel again to bring you what we reckon was one of the most comprehensive round up's of one of the most creative strains of musical sound ever
"Post Punk Attitude 2"!

And Lo...
The unruly musical Hulk that was PUNK lifted a Rock and let the Sun shine into the music scene again.

The exotic flora and fauna that lay dormant underneath was subsequently fed and watered in such volume, all sorts of exotic and hybrid delights grew free.
Colours we’d never seen before, mutations, all free of ego and corporate control reigned supreme...

Could people play their instruments?...Did it matter?

It’s debatable there’s ever been such a short sharp influx of ideas in such a short space of time, and we’re still reaping the benefits today, we were certainly never the same again.

In the time it takes this show takes to pass, you’ll hear some of the major runners and riders, some of the ‘risers’ and ‘fallers’ of this highly influential scene, and also some of the new young bucks who are carrying on the baton with aplomb. Every single track here has had as much effect on The Soap Company as the big Punk kids in the year above who kicked the doors in for us to follow.

All of the tunes played today have a common link.
They might sound light years apart, continents removed, but they ALL have ideas in spades, are their own men (and very much women too), follow none of the rules and most importantly, sound free, instinctive and have “Post-Punk Attitude”.
We think life after Punk, was LITERALLY like a box of chocolates...so...Fancy a chocolate?
